There are still a few housekeeping items such as reports and new locks to be installed but once those are completed, the public will be allowed on the pier.
In recent months, the committee and town council have been at odds over what the role of the committee actually is.
The Surfside pier features lights that are designed to be safe for nesting and hatching sea turtles. It鈥檚 roughly the same length as the old pier, 800 feet from the top of the stairs to the end.
