Mary Jane Allen Magrath聽

A private committal service for Mary Jane Allen Magrath, 98, will be held for family at the Lakeside Cemetery followed by a Memorial聽Service for friends and family at Kingston Presbyterian Church at 800 Third Ave., Conway June聽19 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Doctor Anna Fulmer Duke officiating.

Mrs. Magrath, of Conway, passed away June 6.聽

Born Jan. 6, 1927 in Dillon, she was the daughter of the late Sen. David Smith Allen and聽Lila Rebecca McIntyre Allen.聽She was the wife of the late George N. Magrath for fifty鈥恊ight聽years.聽Mrs. Magrath was a graduate of Winthrop College and taught at Conway High School.聽She later聽served on the Winthrop Alumni Council.聽聽

She was a member of Kingston Presbyterian Church for聽seventy鈥恠even years and a member of the Janette Quattlebaum Circle. She was a charter member of the Chicora Chapter of the Colonial Dames XVII Century and a member of the Peter Horry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.聽聽

For many years she was an avid golfer and bridge player.聽聽聽聽聽

She is survived by one son, George N. Magrath Jr. (Cindy) of Conway; three daughters, Dorothy Jane聽Magrath (Susan) of Norman, Okla.; Harriet M. Allen (Tommy) of Charleston and聽Mary Anna M. Fulmer of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, George N. Magrath III, Ashley M.聽 Condon, Richard A. Magrath, Anna F. Duke and Rebecca F. Gutzmer; two stepgrandchildren, Sean Allen聽and Elizabeth Allen; and sixteen great-grandchildren.聽She is also survived by two sisters, Dot Lyles of聽Spartanburg and Lou Ardrey of Rock Hill.聽

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Kingston Presbyterian Church following the service.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Kingston Presbyterian Church, 800聽Third Ave., Conway, SC 29526.聽
