Conway police have arrested and charged a man with murder after a Friday night disturbance and shooting at a Conway bar that claimed the life of an employee.

CPD posted on its Facebook page that officers responded at about 10 p.m. to a report of shots fired at 1221 16th Ave., the address for Rascal鈥檚 Bar and Grill. It said one person was injured and was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Lester Goldsmith, 41, has been identified as the victim. Tamara Willard, deputy coroner for Horry County, reported Sunday night that Goldsmith died at Conway Medical Center after being shot while working at Rascal's.

On Sunday afternoon, CPD announced they arrested Irving Oswaldo Centeno Gonzalez for murder. Gonzalez was located and brought into custody by the Horry County Police Department.

Conway police also reported two other arrests in connection with the incident. Herman Sanchez Herrera and Marcos Gutierrez-Vazquez have been charged with public disorderly conduct. They thanked other law enforcement agencies for assisting with the case.

Rascal's was the first to announce the death with a Facebook post on Saturday. It included a photo of flowers and a notebook on a table outside the bar, and invited people who knew Goldsmith to 聽"feel free to stop by and leave a note for him."

In a Sunday post, Rascal's management wrote that the business "will remain closed this week as we deal with this tragedy."聽

"I am still working on funeral arrangements and will post more information as I have it," the business reported on Sunday.
