A Myrtle Beach teenager will serve 10 years in prison after entering a guilty plea to drug charges on Friday, Aug. 15.
Marquice Young, 19, was sentenced on two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, a potent opioid drug.
He received 10 years on each charge from 15th Judicial District Judge Michael G. Nettles. The sentences will be served concurrently.
According to a news release from South Carolina鈥檚 15th Circuit solicitor鈥檚 office, Young was arrested on March 8, 2025, and again on March 21. Each time he was in possession of 鈥渓arge quantities鈥 of fentanyl, the release stated.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor David Beamer, who thanked the Horry County Police Department for their efforts in the case.
鈥淪adly, we are seeing younger and younger individuals involved in narcotics distribution and gun violence in our county,鈥 Beamer said. 鈥淥ur law enforcement officers are working diligently against such activity, and we hope sentences like this one help show the county鈥檚 youth that there are consequences for their actions."

So why was he released the first time, made bail? Shouldn't be allowed to post bail for that kind of crime, unless they were tracking him to get bigger fish. Young generation are in it for the cash, big money to be made. Rot in prison, that works.
