A Loris teen is charged with involuntary manslaughter after a Sunday shooting left one person dead.

Horry County chief deputy coroner Tamara Willard said Gregory Johnson II, 20, died after being shot in his vehicle outside of his home on Highway 905.聽

Horry County police officers responded to a home on Highway 905 near Conway a little after midnight early Sunday to respond to calls of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound to the head near the back of the residence, a police incident report states. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead on scene.

Damarion Messiah Nealy, 17, was booked into J Reuben Long Detention Center Sunday, June 1, in connection to the shooting.

An arrest warrant states that Nealy negligently and recklessly discharged a firearm while the firearm was pointed at the victim. "This is known through written and verbal post-Miranda statements" from Nealy, the warrant states.

Nealy was released Monday, June 2 after meeting $100,000 bail. Typically, only 10% of posted bail needs to be paid to a bail bondsman for release.

HCPD is continuing to investigate the incident.

Can鈥檛 wait to hear the backstory on this case. The article implies two scenarios as to the victim being shot in his car and being found behind the house. Also, did the perp pay $10K in bail or $100K?
