Carolina Forest High School

Carolina Forest High School is located at 700 Gardner Lacy Road in the Myrtle Beach area.

Horry County Police Department is investigating after a hoax threat was made about an alleged threat in one of the bathrooms at Carolina Forest High School on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

A police spokesperson said there was no actual threat and the school was not evacuated and the school district said all students and staff are safe.

Last year, Carolina Forest High had multiple hoax bomb threats in the spring, which led to the arrests of two students.

Police have released little information about the latest threat as of Wednesday morning. The school district released the following statement:

"This morning the Carolina Forest High School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified that a call came into law enforcement regarding an alleged threat in one of the bathrooms. The school went into a 'Hold' emergency protocol for approximately 25 minutes while the alleged matter was investigated by the school administration and law enforcement officials. The call has been deemed a hoax and there is no threat to Carolina Forest High School. All students and staff are safe and are continuing with their school day."
