Camaro rams bicyclist in Myrtle Beach

Several witnesses observed as a man driving a late model Chevy Camaro struck a bicyclist on Ocean Boulevard, according to a police report.

Police responded to the 2700 block of North Ocean Boulevard around 3 a.m. Sunday in reference to a disturbance.

The victims, 22 and 25, were bicycling home from work when they spotted a silver Camaro convertible idling on Ocean Boulevard near 28th Avenue North.

The 25-year-old said he said hello to the driver and kept riding.

According to the report, the driver of the Camaro accused the men of robbing him and began to chase them. The driver nearly hit the 25-year-old and did strike the 22-year-old, the report said.

Three witnesses who witnessed the strike told similar stories. The bicyclist was uninjured and was able to flee on foot.

Police were unable to find the Camaro. Officers planned to review security cameras.

A witness was able to photograph the Camaro's license plate. The care bore Georgia tags and is registered to an LLC. The vehicle is a 2015 silver Camaro.
