What better way to spend the longer Valentine鈥檚 Day President鈥檚 weekend than relaxing by the shore and enjoying a couple of the best beach music bands around.
Ocean Lakes Family Campground is hosting its 25th聽annual Beach n鈥 Boogie Weekend featuring the Embers with Craig Woolard on Feb. 14 and the Blackwater Band on Feb. 15.
The popular weekend extravaganza is open ONLY to those who are staying at the campground. You can bring your camper to one of the hundreds of great sites or rent a cabin or house if actual camping is not your thing.
Guests may purchase wristbands for the weekend that must be worn the entire time.
Both bands take the stage in the recreation building at 7 p.m. for a three-hour show.
If you want to sharpen your shag or line dancing moves, dance lessons are open to anyone with a wristband from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The legendary Embers began their journey into the beach music world in 1958. They are members of the Beach Music Hall of Fame and the Musical Ambassadors of North Carolina.
Their big hit 鈥淚 Love Beach Music鈥 has become a beach music anthem and classic.
The Blackwater Band has been racking up beach music hits for over a decade. The band is based out of Clarkton, North Carolina and play to audiences all over the Carolinas and East Coast.
Ocean Lakes Family Campground covers a mile of beachfront on Highway 17 between Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach. The massive campground features pull-through campsites, rental houses and homes.
The popular campground has been named best campground in the United States and consistently ranks in the top 1% of all campgrounds.
